Regarding the article “Paving Flap” in the April 24 issue, about the residents who were whining about their dangerous, curvy road. I live on Tennant’s Church Road, which is another “dangerous, pothole ridden” road and in Madison County, and my message to you is: Get over it! Dirt roads just mean you should drive slower.
There are probably 10 or 15 roads in Madison County that are “as bad” as yours. On mine, there are always potholes, and when it rains, giant water-filled trenches show up everywhere.
But you know what? Paved roads ultimately mean higher speed limits, more traffic, and more trash. I’d gladly sacrifice speed for less trash.
There’s nothing wrong with having a dirty car either, unless your employers judge you by how it looks. In fact, a dirty car probably waves off would-be car thieves. There is really nothing wrong with a dirt road.
