All children deserve a safe, happy life — including the more than 8,000 children and youth in foster care in Virginia.

The Madison County Department of Social Services is recruiting families to serve as foster parents. Many of the children that are placed in foster care in this community end up in foster homes outside of the county, so not only are they separated from their family, but they are also disconnected from their friends, school and community.

We are looking for families, single or married, that can open their hearts and home to help children have a safe, stable and nurturing home environment. Many of these children and teens will safely reunite with their parents, be cared for by relatives, or be adopted by loving families, but until one of these goals are achieved, we need your help.

For information, call (540) 948-5521.
