Bring Yule cheer to needy MC children

Christmas is for children! Indeed, Christmas should be a most exciting, joyous and happy occasion for all children.

Over the years there have been many wonderful groups here in Madison County that have tried to make that a reality — by providing gifts for children of the less fortunate families in our community. Several churches, organizations and individuals have sponsored children and sometimes entire families.

This year, it is expected that the need for sponsorship may be even greater, as a result of the extremely adverse economic conditions that we are currently experiencing. Toward this end, several local organizations will undertake a coordinated effort to bring Christmas gifts to all children of families in need. The participating organizations include the department of Social Services, Madison Primary School, Head Start of Skyline CAP and MESA.

Parents or guardians of children, who may need some assistance in this regard, are asked to get in touch with one of these organizations to see how they may be able to benefit from this year’s Christmas program.

Also, anyone who wants to make donations, or in any other way participate in this year’s event is greatly encouraged to let us know so that we may include you in our planning process. Madison County has always been known for its generosity, and together we can make a big difference in the lives of our children this Christmas.
