Things escalated as two Madison County men argued Sept. 19, with one of the men eventually firing a shotgun, then stabbing and seriously injuring the second man, authorities say. The 54-year-old victim was transported to the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.
Deputies arrested Kenneth Wayne Eaton, 44, in connection with the 3:50 p.m. incident in the 100 block of Oak Hill Court after he was found hiding behind a tree there, according to a Madison County Sheriff’s Office news release. He was charged with malicious wounding, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and being drunk in public. He remains in custody at press time at the Central Virginia Regional Jail in Orange, where he is being held without bond.
Madison County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Norman Gallimore declined to say what the two men were arguing about.
