This is a Madison County Sheriff’s Office photo of Dep. Andra Jackson. A similar photo of Dep. Jackson that appeared in the Aug. 7 Eagle was defaced.

From time to time, we publish “Meet Your Deputy” segments that introduce sheriff’s deputies to our community. Last week, we featured Madison County Sheriff’s Deputy Andra Jackson with a small photograph. The page that we prepared and the page that was published were different.
Each week, the pages of The Eagle are “assembled” in the Madison office, where they are proofed, corrected and electronically transmitted to the Culpeper Star-Exponent. There, the electronic pages are converted into the newspaper you see each week.
Between the time last week’s Eagle was sent to be printed and the time it was published, page B7 was changed and Deputy Jackson’s photograph was defaced.
The person responsible for the changes is no longer an employee of the Culpeper Star-Exponent.
We sincerely apologize to Deputy Jackson.
