Sheriff Erik Weaver of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office announced July 2 that a joint investigation by Blue Ridge Task Force, DEA, Virginia State Police and Madison County Sheriff’s Office, after a three-month investigation, had executed a search warrant on July 1, in the 900 Block of Leon Road in Leon.
Timothy A. Nichols, 31, was arrested without incident at his residence and charged with possession of powder cocaine, crack cocaine, schedule II prescription drugs, possession of marijuana, firearm possession after being convicted of a felony and driving after his operator’s license was revoked.
Sheriff Weaver advises that his office will continue to take an aggressive approach to illegal narcotic activities in Madison County and will continue to work with other law enforcement agencies to make this happen.
At press time, Nichols remained at Central Virginia Regional Jail, Orange, awaiting his first appearance.
Federal charges may be forthcoming.
